BuildAPC Beginner's Guide Live Chat on Discord Daily Simple Questions threads sometimes takes 2-3x to get it to work if this 2nd option doesnt work wipe out armory crate from your system and erase anything in that folder in the regular program files folder cause typically crate and aura use diff sdk lighting services and will conflict with eachother and cause it to brick aswell. if the lights kick off then the mobo isnt synced with the program and defaults to off from invalid commands due to them being outa sync. next shut down let sit 30 sec then power on it should start all rainbow then when windows engages youll see a flicker into more rgb. > boot into windows let all the random bs turn on then reboot to bios enable aura > next install aura sync and double check lighting services installed with it. > reboot to bios > set aura off > shut down > flip power switch > let sit a min. uninstall aura / light services > erase both folders in program 86 > then either manually erase the registry files for them or use cc cleaner. boot into windows let everything taskmanager related kick in > reboot to bios > enable aura > shut down > let it sit 30 sec > boot to windows, in theory this should fix it if it doesnt then we do the long more in depth fix.Ģnd option. then shut down the pc and flip the power switch. atleast this is what i found fixes it cause the motherboard generally gets outa sync with the registry and just opens a can of worms when it does.įirst option, reboot into bios > set aura to off. otherwise the board and registry conflict and everytrhing goes batshit. This is for aura which you need to have installed for any of the rgb to work right. these steps should work for both softwares. I had to figure this out like 2 yrs ago.Īrmory crate sucks tbh you need to use the latest asus aura imo. If you still have issues this is the guide on how to fix it. I also guess the Asus bot considers uninstalling their program and using a 3rd party open source solution "solved". I guess unless you want an RGB cable hanging out of your DIMM RGB heat spreader, this is the only other way to do it. A lot of people ended up with bricked DIMMs in the early days of G.Skill's own RGB control program because they were overwriting SPD data on the DIMMs. This buss was not designed to have RGB data constantly running through it. I think this is due to the way the LEDs on RGB RAM are controlled - over the SMB Buss. Aura and AC are also hit or miss with RGB RAM detection. RGB RAM detection usually works but it's sometimes hit or miss. My experience has been that both do a good job of recognizing the mobo LEDs and ARGB ports. Signal RGB is another option though it is very different than OpenRGB. I tried OpenRGB and it worked pretty well, and it keeps getting better. I refuse to install any of these programs. Corsair iCue is a buggy, bloated mess as well. It's ridiculous and sad that these programs have been this bad for this long. I am also a member of the "I had to reinstall Windows to get things working after trying to use Aura and/or Armoury Crate" club. I have been through it with both of them. Armoury Crate (AC) and Aura are just terrible pieces of software.
